Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! We Love Bugs!
Today we had two visitors from Bug Out, Mr. John, Sarah's Dad and Miss Linda. They did an awesome job talking to us about good bugs and bad bugs. They also told us how to keep from having bugs we don't want! (Although in kindergarten all bugs are so fascinating to look at and touch.) And as a cool treat they brought us a Bug Out bag, key chain, coloring book and best of all a rubber bug!! We want to thank them so much for volunteering their time. It fit in perfectly with our study of bugs!
Caps for Sale
This week we read the adorable story, Caps for Sale. Then wrote about it. And to "cap" it off we made monkey masks and caps!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Those naughty leprechauns came to our room on Friday. Earlier in the week we read about them in the book Clever Tom and the Leprechaun. We were stunned when we saw how they wrecked our room!
They threw books on the floor, hung our Pete the Cat doll on the lights, put a chair and the American flag in the bathroom, hung some of the letter people upside down, put the time out chair in the trash and gave everyone a rule breaking ticket! We couldn't believe it! Well, of course, we couldn't wait to clean up and put everything back in order. Fortunately, they left us a note and some cookies to make up for their tricks. I hope none of them sneaked home with your child! :)

Building Respect with Donovan Darius
Former Jaguar safety, Donovan Darius, came to our monthly flag raising to discuss respect and attitude. He was an awesome speaker and reinforced behaviors that help us learn and succeed in life. He reminded us that simple things like looking at those who are talking and listening when others are talking (not talking amongst ourselves) are cornerstones to respect and attitude. Great lessons from a nice guy and good role model.
