October Student of the Month

Meet Hana, our Student of the Month. She's brave, like our Book of the Month character, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. Even when she needs to make a change and improve Hana is brave enough to admit that. Who could be braver than that??

Literary Character Parade

Who is Pete the Cat??

Our leadership team as literary characters. Do you recognize characters from The Wizard of Oz and Charlotte's Web??

Pinkalicious!!

So many characters, so little time!

The Cat in the Hat goes wild in Mrs. Bergeron's convertible

Our favorite leaders with Pete the Cat! Who doesn't love to dress up??

Meet our Helpers!

Say hello to Bubbles, one of our favorite volunteers!! We love, love, love her happy attitude and smiling face.

And here's Ms. Pesce, our UNF intern. She's the junior Queen in training!

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything

Miss Sheila, Sarah's mom, was not afraid to read the Book of the Month to our class.  She knows it by heart as it is one of her family's favorites.

Thank you Miss Sheila!!

September Student of the Month

Our Student of the Month, Tania, was selected for thinking on her own while always doing the right thing. She is creative and inventive!

Reader's Workshop

During Reader's Workshop, we do a variety of activities that help us learn.

One of the games we are learning to play is Boo!, a game about color words

We all make our names -- counting the letters in our name at Word Work

We are learning to stamp the date for Listen to Reading paper on the story, Corduroy.

We love working on the program, Starfall, on the computer

We drew pictures about the story, Corduroy, at Listen to Reading

Check out who is Reading the Room, with the "Wandas" at ABC Work

After finishing our Art project we have choices, like the Art Tub. This week we are choosing magnet shapes to make pictures.

Skills Block

We love reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom during Skills Block

Today we played drums and maracas while reading the story.

We meet a Letter Person every day

and think about words that make their sound during Skills Blocks

Exploring Math Materials

Writer's Workshop

How does Writer's Workshop look at the beginning of the year?

We write words.

We draw pictures to match.

We think carefully about what we are doing.

When we finish we read to get more story ideas.

And read....

read...

read!

Sometimes when we work hard we celebrate with a song,

like the Tooty Ta!!
