Fun Run Fun!!!

Miss Roseanne is in awe!

The Fun Run sure did live  up to its name. It looked wild and crazy, but was such a blast for students and spectators. The fun served a great purpose to raise money for our awesome school.
Thanks so much to Mr. John and Miss Roseanne for coming to keep track of our laps.
 We love volunteers!!

Fun Run

Our Boosterthon Fun Run is this Thursday, January 31. Don't the children look fabulous in their t-shirts?? Remember to have them bring their shirt back to school on Wednesday, January 30, so we can make sure they are ready for Thursday. Thank you so much for supporting this awesome fund raiser!!

19 Little Kittens

Last week we read the oldie, but goodie story, The Three Little Kittens.
Here are the children reenacting the story with their mittens and masks.
The story goes like this:
Three little kittens they lost their mittens and they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear, see here, see here, our mittens we have lost!"
"What! lost your mittens you naughty kittens, then you shall have no pie!"
"Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow" "
"No, you shall have no pie!"
The three little kittens found their their mittens and they began to cry,
"Oh, mother dear see here, see here, our mittens we have found!"
"What! Found your mittens! You good little kittens then you shall have some pie"
"Yes, we shall have some pie! Purr, purr, purr"
The three little kittens put on their mittens and soon ate up the pie.
"Oh, mother dear, see here, see here, our mittens we have soiled!"
"What! Soiled your mittens you naughty kittens!"
And they began to cry, "Meow, meow, meow"
The three little kittens washed their mittens and hung them up to dry,
"Oh, mother dear, see here, see here, our mittens we have washed"
"What! Washed your mittens you darling kittens! But hush, I smell a rat close by"
"Yes, we smell a rat close by. Meow, meow, meow!"

Aren't they adorable?? Learning +Fun = Kindergarten!!

Science Fair

Last week we began our project for the Science Fair. We have talked about living and nonliving things, so we decided to do an experiment involving living things. Our question we began with was: "Will a plant grow in something besides soil?" We predicted that they would grow in sand, but not in clay, coffee, rubber bits (from our playground) and rocks. Then we split into groups and planted seeds in each material, watered them and put them on the window sill to get sun.
Of course, my favorite part of that day was when we finished the experiment about 5 minutes later several students were looking at the plant and yelling excitedly that they were already growing!! Cracked me right up!

We have been observing the plants ever since and will present our results next Thursday night, January 31at the Science Fair. Feel free to drop by and check it out! :)
