Scientists At Work

Our project for the Science Fair was to find out if seeds could grow in something else besides soil.
We planted seeds in clay, rubber bits (ground up tires on our playground), coffee, rocks and sand.
Which do you think they grew in??

And here are our results... the seeds grew in rocks and rubber bits!!

Where are the Wild Things??

Why they're right here in the castle reenacting the story, Where the Wild Things Are!

Let the wild rumpus begin!

The wild things roared their terrible roars and ...

gnashed their terrible teeth and ...

rolled their terrible eyes and ...

showed their terrible claws!

Until the Queen tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once. And they called her the most wild thing of all!!

Congratulations Miss Mills!

Our FSCJ intern, Miss Mills, completed her course work last week and is sailing off to find her own class of adorable children. We are positive she will be the next Queen !
Our awesome fifth grade teachers, Mr. Gibbons and Mrs. Goodman, gave all the interns their very own door name plates! Isn't that just the coolest gift??

Surprise, Miss Mills!!!

Miss Mills reads our book we made about her. They just loved everything about her!

Oh, lovely mud!!

This week we are reading the story, Mrs. Wishy Washy. One of the children's favorite activities is to act it out. And here they are!

"Oh, lovely mud," said the cow and he jumped in it.
"Oh, lovely mud," said the pig and he rolled in it.
"Oh, lovely mud," said the duck and he paddled in it.
Along came Mrs. Wishy Washy. "Just LOOK at you!" she screamed.
"In the tub you go."
In went the pig. Wishy Washy, Wishy Washy.
In went the duck Wishy Washy Wishy Washy.
In went the cow. Wishy Washy Wishy Washy
"That's better," said Mrs.Wishy Washy.
Away went the cow.
Away went the pig.
Away went the duck.
"Oh, lovely mud!" they said.

And it's such a great story that everyone got to be in the act!
